Queensway Art Project

Following on from the earlier project (right) to brighten up the Queensway planters, residents and partners gathered on 21 August to add some colourful finishing touches.

During the month of August, residents of Queensway
have partnered with South Essex Homes, Storehouse, ATF and Southend Community Matters to create a beautiful display of art on the forecourt – as part of a long-term plan to add a splash of colour and creativity onto the Estate.

Two workshops were held on the 7th and 14th August where local children gave their ideas on what they would like to see around their homes and on the 21st of August, their thoughts and creativity came to life! The workshops were coordinated by local artist Ed Nottingham

Ed did a fantastic job keeping everyone busy and ensuring that the children’s ideas came to life.

Southend Community Matters Community Development Officer, Chris Silvey, said:

Everyone has worked really hard on this project, we are delighted to support residents working together to make Queensway a better and brighter place to live.
