Southend Community Matters is a registered charity based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. We are dedicated to improving the lives of local residents through community-led projects and collaboration.
Working alongside volunteers, partner organisations, and residents, our projects aim to tackle social isolation, support vulnerable people and promote community safety and wellbeing.
Currently, we are pleased to be supporting residents and community partners to ensure local people stay informed and have a say in the Better Queensway project.
We are proud to announce the launch of our new Community Directory. This is a work in progress aiming to be a comprehensive resource designed to bridge the gap between residents and local support networks. Specifically curated to serve areas like Queensway in Victoria Ward and the wider city, this directory acts as a central information hub for life in Southend-on-Sea.
The directory consolidates local organisations, ranging from grassroots mental health groups to essential crisis services. We will be adding entries into categories such as Foodbanks, Health and Wellbeing, Family, Children & Youth Support, Older People and more. The platform ensures that help is only a few clicks away. Each listing provides contact details and a brief summary of what's on offer.
