Better Queensway will bring major infrastructure improvements to the area, Southend Community Matters are working with residents and our partners at Southend City Council, South Essex Homes and contractor Taylor Woodrow to ensure that those living in the area will be fully informed and have their say as the project progresses. Work on the project will include removing the underpass and footbridge, reducing the roundabout size, adding cycle paths, and improving pedestrian access.
The Better Queensway project team and contractors Taylor Woodrow have been preparing for upcoming changes to the road, now rescheduled to commence in late November. All information regarding lane closures and updates on the works will be provided to residents via a letter drop and will also be available on the QR codes in the tower blocks.

We are committed to ensuring residents have a voice throughout the project. There is a Queensway Matters forum which meets every two months for Queensway residents to attend and speak with council officers and the Deputy Leader. To register your interest in joining, please contact: BetterQueensway@southend.gov.uk.
